21 December, 2022 [Press release]

Building materials chain Beijer Byggmaterial AB signs partnership with sustainability platform Prodikt and expands its customer offer around sustainability

The construction and real estate sector’s greenhouse gas emissions in Sweden account for roughly one fifth of the country’s climate impact. National and European legislation and directives are pushing towards more climate-smart construction and renovation. Combined with a growing need to provide the market and its stakeholders with accurate sustainability information on building products – in a smooth and resource-efficient way – this has led to a concrete, long-term partnership between Beijer Byggmaterial AB and Prodikt (Carbonzero AB).

To support customers’ environmental ambitions and make their sustainability work easier, Beijer aims to offer a best-in-class range of building materials and related services that streamline and simplify daily work. This also includes access to expert environmental advice, helping customers use products in the best possible way from both a climate and health perspective.

“At Beijer Byggmaterial we build for the people who build. That means we want to offer building materials and related services that make sustainable construction easier. By providing product data and sustainability-related services, we help our customers make informed decisions and broaden our customer offering,” says Alexandra Rosenqvist, Head of Environment and Sustainability at Beijer Byggmaterial.

“Through Prodikt, Beijer Byggmaterial and its customers gain high-quality, comprehensive information on the climate impact of products, building systems and projects. At the same time, the platform gives a clear overview of levels of circularity and health risks from the materials used in construction,” says Rasmus Ekberg, CEO and co-founder of Prodikt (Carbonzero AB).

This partnership is a great example of how two organisations can become stronger together and better support a fast and effective transition for the industry.

Prodikt is a unique, open digital sustainability platform for building materials and projects. By using data-driven sustainability information down to product level, Prodikt – together with Beijer Byggmaterial – will actively help make future buildings more climate-smart, circular and healthy.
