Through the film we contribute to the global conversation about the future of sustainable construction. In Building a Better World we highlight how digitalisation and innovative solutions can transform the industry – and the world.
Buildings are vital. They shape our cities, define our landscapes and influence our daily lives. We spend over 90% of our time indoors, and the design and quality of these spaces strongly affect our health, wellbeing and productivity. Despite this importance, construction is still one of the least digitalised sectors. Productivity growth has been just 1% over the last two decades, while the sector accounts for around 40% of global emissions.
With forecasts suggesting that the equivalent of a new New York City will be built every month until 2030, the industry faces enormous challenges. Many stakeholders, complex product dependencies, cost overruns and tighter climate regulations all make building projects harder to manage.
BIMobject Group has become a frontrunner in enabling the shift to a sustainable construction sector. Bim.com connects the group’s other solutions into one ecosystem: the digital product library bimobject.com, the construction project platform prodikt.com which offers a unique end-to-end solution, and EandoX, a software tool for calculating and reporting product environmental performance (Environmental Product Performance, EPP).
