Byggmaterialhandlarna (BMH) and Prodikt, part of BIMobject AB, have entered into a partnership agreement to make it easier for building product manufacturers to maintain, verify, and share sustainability information with the Swedish construction supply chain. The collaboration simplifies how merchants work with harmonised, digital climate data—both today and in future systems developed through BMH’s partnership with GS1.
As the construction supply chain moves towards increased standardisation, the need for structured, traceable, and quality-assured data is growing rapidly—not least for climate and environmental information. The collaboration between Prodikt and BMH enables an efficient process for suppliers who choose to use Prodikt, from calculating product climate performance, primarily through Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), to sharing product-specific results with builders’ merchants. This information can be shared with merchants through the GS1 node, within the same flow as other product information.
As part of the collaboration, Prodikt becomes a (non-exclusive) selected platform for delivering sustainability data to BMH’s members. Prodikt will reflect BMH’s specifications for item data (data models) and ensure compatibility with merchants’ needs and systems. Today, more than 150 suppliers already share sustainability data via Prodikt’s data platform.
