Home / Ressources / Optimera & Prodikt: Climate calculations and guidance on product choices
5 October, 2022 [Press release]
The law on climate declarations for buildings came into force on 1 January 2022. At the same time, the need has grown for smooth and resource-efficient ways to provide the market and its stakeholders with accurate sustainability information on building products. This has led to a concrete, long-term partnership agreement between Optimera and Prodikt (Carbonzero AB).

The partnership has resulted in a unique service that Optimera will now offer to all its customers. The service includes easy climate calculations at the quotation stage, advice on product choices and, further on, the possibility to create climate declarations efficiently. Many of Optimera’s customers currently have limited internal resources to handle these new regulatory requirements. This collaboration is therefore an important, progressive step that makes it easier for customers to work actively with climate issues.
“We realised that it takes time for our customers to find relevant climate information for the specific products that will be used in a project. In addition, the information needs to be calculated in order to be comparable,” says Henrik Björk, Head of Sustainability at Optimera. “This partnership enables us to support our customers already when they choose products and to help them with quick climate calculations as early as the quotation stage.”

“Through Prodikt, Optimera and their customers gain high-quality, comprehensive information about the climate impact of products, building systems and entire projects. At the same time, the platform gives a clear overview of circularity levels and health risks from the materials used in construction,” says Rasmus Ekberg, CEO and co-founder. “This partnership is a great example of how two organisations can become stronger together and better support a fast and efficient transition for the industry.”
Carbonzero AB provides the digital platform Prodikt – www.prodikt.com
– where construction projects can be analysed easily, from product selection through to operation. In collaboration with manufacturers, product data is made accessible and comparable across many different parameters. Prodikt does not rate or rank the products; the choice is made by, for example, the architect, purchaser or developer. The majority owner of the company is BIMobject AB.
Optimera is one of Sweden’s leading builders’ merchants for professionals, with nearly 70 stores in Sweden, a turnover of just over SEK 4 billion and around 1,000 employees. The Optimera Group is owned by French company Saint-Gobain, headquartered in Paris, one of Europe’s largest suppliers of building materials. In addition to Sweden, Optimera also operates in Norway, Estonia and Latvia.
